Check Your Eligibility for Spain’s Non-Lucrative Visa
Thinking about moving to Spain? Find out whether you could meet the basic requirements for a Spanish Non-Lucrative Visa (NLV).
Spain’s Non-Lucrative Visa is designed for non-EU nationals who want to live in Spain without carrying out employment or professional activities there. It can be an option for people who have sufficient financial means to support themselves and their family while living in Spain.
Before starting your application, it is important to understand whether you are likely to meet the key requirements.
Could You Qualify for an NLV?
Our quick eligibility check asks a few straightforward questions about your circumstances, including your finances, criminal record, accommodation plans and the number of people applying.
It only takes a few moments to complete.
Your answers can help give you an initial indication of whether the Non-Lucrative Visa could be suitable for you.
Financial Requirements
You will need to demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to support yourself while living in Spain.
As a general guide, you should be able to show evidence of approximately €28,800 for one applicant for a year, or €36,000 for a couple, with additional financial requirements potentially applying depending on your circumstances and any dependants.
Criminal Record
Applicants must generally provide evidence of a clean criminal record covering the required period. Your circumstances and previous history may affect the documentation you need to provide.
Accommodation in Spain
You will also need to demonstrate that you have suitable accommodation arrangements in Spain, whether you intend to rent or purchase a property.
